As some of you may have noticed, my blog is crazy old.
(Thanks Kate Beaton)
‘Pablo,’ I said teasingly, ‘do you want me to tell you a story?’
‘No’ he huffed, lying back on the sand. There was a brief silence. ‘Maybe.’
I know this sounds ridiculous but I’m going to say it anyway. I put off reading Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children because I hated the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. Yup, I judged one author’s work based on his marital status to another author… Classy.
But the great reviews, and the found photos that are so integral to the text, eventually reeled me in.
Fairy tale re-imaginings: so hot right now. And so much fun!
May has been a bit of a transition month.
I finished the last of my exams; ending my French uni experience. I started a new English teaching job that is soooo much more flexible than anything else I’ve had (and better paid). And it was my birthday, party times! –And also one year closer to my quarter life crisis.
All in all not too shabby. So here’s a wrap up on the month of May and what I’m aiming to achieve over the next year (because lists are fun and if I write out my wishes they might just come true!).
